Following Jesus The Right Way

                                                                                          How Do You Follow Jesus

Mat 26:57  And they who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.

Mat 26:58  But Peter followed Him afar off to the high priest's court, and he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

How far off do you follow Jesus -just keeping him in sight.. or are you close enough you can hear what He is saying to you.

1. All believers go to heaven – all who believe in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life.

2. Only Servants are rewarded - Mat 25:21  His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.

Mat 10:34  Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword.  (sword – Gospel-  divides the Kingdom from the world)

Mat 10:35  For I have come to set a man against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

Mat 10:36  And a man's foes shall be those of his own household.

Mat 10:37  He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

To be his disciple we must love him supremely..or we are not a disciple….simply  a believer

Mat 10:38  And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.

(as Jesus had to bear His cross up Calvary.. so do we have to bear our cross to maintain a close walk with Him our cross like Jesus’ is self-denial… Our prayer must be “Thy will be done, not my will”…regardless of family…friends….our desires..)

Luk 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he may have enough to finish it;  (Jesus said you better count the cost of becoming a disciple and to be willing to accept whatever that cost may be)

Salvation is free… discipleship come with a cost…

Joh 15:14  You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

Joh 15:15  No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

He stands with His servants in all their trials, takes notice of every insult they are called upon to endure,

Honors them in this life for their witness of Him and will abundantly reward them in the next life for all their faithfulness.

Joh 12:26  If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there also My servant shall be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. Take up thy cross and follow me..

How close do you follow Jesus?

“Where there is No Cross, there is  no Crown.”
